Meta has introduced a standalone app for its AI assistant, now available on iOS, Android, and desktop platforms. The app leverages the open-source Llama 4 model, enabling users to generate images, switch between celebrity voices, and integrate with Meta smart glasses. A Discovery tab facilitates engagement with AI-generated content from other users.
This release marks Meta’s latest effort to expand its generative AI tools beyond its CORE social media platforms, following initial integrations in December 2023. The move positions Meta in direct competition with AI leaders like OpenAI and Google, as the company accelerates its push into the AI space.
